Knowing what to wear on a cruise can be a little confusing if it is your first cruise. I want to give you some tips and tricks on how and what to pack, plus I want to share with you a downloadable packing list….but not just any packing list; this is the ultimate cruise packing list (cue the angels singing)!!

Below are a  few things for you to read, then watch the Top 5 Tips to Packing video to the left to help you even more.

Remember you are on vacation so know your destination's weather. We have some great resources for you on finding out what the weather is like where you are traveling to. This will also help you know what to pack.

Formal nights vary in dress code per ship so check with the cruise line before you decide what to wear. Not all formal nights mean tuxedos and long gowns; but if you want to wear a tuxedo and a long gown you are free to do so. However, it is fun to dress up and get a picture taken. That formal night dress can be as easy as a men’s dress shirt, slacks or dress jeans (no holes) and dress shoes. For women, dress pants, jumpsuit, or a dress with some dress shoes.

Pictured to the left top is an example of formal night for hubby and me when we cruised.

During the day you are doing your thing, so dress how you want – swimsuit, leggings, jogging pants, shorts – whatever you are comfortable in.

Excursions are the same; comfort is key! Please know there are a few countries even in the Caribbean who do not allow camouflage of any kind; even on hats. This may result in a fine or worse. So, respect and obey the laws. Some places do not allow women to leave their shoulders uncovered if visiting areas like a church. So do your research. Remember, just as you want visitors to respect our laws here in the USA when they visit, we need to respect other countries laws because we are a guest there.

Mostly vacation comfortable clothes and shoes are what you need with a dress night thrown in. If you do not want to dress up; no problem, that night just go to the buffet to eat dinner and keep on enjoying your vacation.

Now to the left is a pdf of your ultimate packing list to download for free!
